i just wanted to let you all know that after a year of keeping up amandromeda blog, i will be shutting her down. i have found that i can't really devote the time necessary to researching for it and posting everyday. thanks so much to all of you who have followed me over these last months. i've really enjoyed having this blog but i think it's time to say goodbye. i'll keep it up for a few more days in case you read this late or you would like to go through the archives and keep some of the photos. and you can still see my etsy store (which will probably when i close the blog for good become amandromeda.com so you can save the address if you'd like) and if you live in the area come to my shop and chat anytime! alright guys, see ya around the internets!!

this home was featured on design sponge monday but since it is so awesome, i wanted to post it here. i love how undesigned this place is. it's fun and filled with much loved things. and i am swooning over the bookcase with the rolling ladder. that was always my dream when i was growing up: a huge library with one of those ladders.

Admittedly, my approach is FUNKY. Stream lined, balanced, and tasteful spaces are a bore more often than not. I do not think anyone’s home should look like it is a set for catalog photography.

I love interior design, however my approach is that it should be active. If you love ping pong do away with the dining room table, if you love your motorcycle maybe that will be more important in the home than a fancy credenza, If you love surfing I can’t think of a better thing to hang on the wall than a surfboard. ok, so i never post pictures of myself, and i don't know how often i will in the future. we'll see how it goes. but i just wanted to let you all know how much i love this jacket. you see, i was at my favorite thrift store this week and while i was at the checkout counter, i spied this little lovely from across the room. she was hanging on a clothing rack i had not looked at earlier in my wanderings so when i saw her, my eyes lit up. i told the lady behind the counter that i would be right back and then i snatched that baby right up and plopped her down with my other stuff. i didn't even try it on. when i got home, the first thing i did was slide into this jacket. i think it was made for me. and she only cost me $6.

one year ago today, we moved into our lovely home above broadway in downtown siloam springs. so, for nostalgia's sake, i thought i'd take us all on a trip down memory lane.

the christmas parade was this weekend and so was the turning on of the lights down broadway. i love it.

above is matt's stocking. well, it's not a stocking really but more of a bag. i went to a thrift store and bought an old flannel nightgown to make them and in truth i just didn't want to sew a stocking shape because it takes longer than doing straight lines. that's why we have christmas bags hung by our windows with care.

my paper snowflakes in the front door and luke 2:8-11 on the fridge to remind us of the reason we celebrate.

the advent calendar. each night isaiah gets to open a new bag and pull out a fun treat or toy.

presents! i usually wrap my gifts in kraft paper, but this year i asked isaiah to draw on the paper to make it a bit more festive.

i couldn't really get a good picture of it with my camera phone but i have paper chains swagged at the top of the windows.

sometimes i get kind of stingy with the awesome things i find on the internet, and to tell you the truth i wasn't going to share this because i wanted people to think i was brilliant and what-not when i made them. then, i got to thinking about it and changed my mind. cool ideas aren't for one person to enjoy, they are for all people. and plus, it wasn't my idea and you could just as easily find this for yourself. anyhoo...i found out about these sweet yarn pom-poms about a month ago on bleubird vintage. they are very versatile little things. you can make a flower, a wreath, or ornaments, which is what i was going to do with them. and well, i haven't made them yet and that is why i thought i'd share the love. if i'm not going to do it then someone should! anyway, you can find the tutorial here.

i'm also totally into owls right now. they're just so cute and charming. and here are some great little owls that would make perfect gifts (for me) and are very affordable (hint).

this home tour comes courtesy of skona hem. i know i've shown this first picture before and i still love that faux library wallpaper. the dark walls in this home are amazing. i love how dramatic it is. and the light fixtures...wow. ok. enjoy the tour!

i thought i'd share a few pictures of our thanksgiving. we spent the holiday with my family at my parents' house in big cabin, oklahoma (and it's not very big, in case you're wondering). anyway, all these pictures were taken from my phone since a couple weeks ago my real camera met its unfortunate demise, so i do apologize for the grainyness. and they are all out of order. but you'll get the idea. we had fun.

this was matt's plate. full of fried turkey, smoked sausage, venison, and caribou, green olives, deviled egg, yams, and maque choux.

this is me and my pretty niece, grace.

the crazy kids: my sweet one, isaiah; niece, anna; nephew hayden.

getting ready for lunch. my awesome dad is slicing up the caribou. he went on a hunting trip to canada back in september and killed one. it was so delicious!!! and there i am chatting with my sister angie and my sister-in-law carol. my mom would die if she knew i was showing pictures of her kitchen in such a state of disarray. oh, well. luckily, she doesn't really know how to use the computer.
